Unlike standard bullion coins, Burnished Gold Eagles also carry the “W” mintmark, confirming their origin at the West Point Mint. Because the process is more labor-intensive and expensive, mintages remain intentionally limited—making each release a standout for those who value true rarity and craftsmanship.
