The gold coin reproduces Hermon A. MacNeil's original Standing Liberty Quarter design. The obverse depicts Liberty turning to look over the shield on her left arm while extending an olive branch in her right hand, standing within an opening in a wall bordered by 13 stars. Inscriptions read "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRVST," and "1916." A Liberty Bell privy mark bearing the numeral "250" commemorates the nation's semiquincentennial. The reverse shows an eagle in flight flanked by 13 stars, with the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLVRIBVS VNVM," and "QUARTER DOLLAR."

The companion silver medal, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, carries a modern design that responds directly to the historic coin. On the obverse, a windswept Liberty holds a shield toward the viewer while turning to extend an olive branch toward an eagle in the distance. The shield's 50 rivets represent the states of the Union, and its 13 stripes represent the original colonies. The reverse offers a close-up view of the olive branch, now held by the eagle and flanked by 13 stars.

Certified Specimen 70, the highest grade attainable for Specimen-struck issues, each piece carries flawless surfaces and strong strike quality as assessed by NGC. Availability is limited, with a mintage cap of 30,000 sets set by the U.S. Mint across all product offerings in this release.
