Commemorate 250 years of American independence with the fourth release in the U.S. Mint's Best of the Mint series, the 1804 Silver Dollar Gold Coin and Silver Medal Specimen 70 Set. This set pairs a 24-karat gold recreation of the historic 1804 Silver Dollar, one of the most closely watched rarities in American numismatic history, with a one-ounce .999 fine silver companion medal, both certified SP70 by NGC.

The gold coin reproduces the original Draped Bust design. The obverse depicts a draped bust of Liberty facing right, her hair bound by a ribbon, flanked by 13 stars. Inscriptions read "LIBERTY" and "1804." A Liberty Bell privy mark bearing the numeral "250" commemorates the nation's semiquincentennial. The reverse carries a heraldic eagle with raised wings and a shield on its breast, holding a scroll inscribed "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak, 13 arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other, beneath clouds and 13 stars, encircled by "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." In keeping with the original design, the edge carries the raised lettering "HUNDRED CENTS ONE DOLLAR OR UNIT."

The companion silver medal, struck at the Philadelphia Mint, carries a modern design inspired by the historic dollar and its place in the nation's numismatic record.

Certified Specimen 70, the highest grade attainable for Specimen-struck issues, each piece carries flawless surfaces and strong strike quality as assessed by NGC. Availability is tightly limited, with a mintage cap of 15,000 sets. As the fourth entry in the Best of the Mint series, this pairing offers investors a way to add a historically significant, top-certified gold and silver combination to a precious metals portfolio.
