From the Library and Archives Canada collection, a century-old pen-and-ink concept by Joseph Aube has been adapted to fill both sides of this modern tribute crafted in one kilogram of 99.99% pure silver.
This 1 kilo sized celebration of Canada's heraldic heritatge was minted in honour of the 100th anniversary of Canada's official armorial bearings. The Royal Canadian Mint dug deep into the national archives to find a rare art treasure: a drawing of Canadian heraldic emblems in 1912. The herladry-themed art is an artisitc snapshot of an era of Canada before its coming of age.
