The 2026 Semiquincentennial President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin is an official United States Mint issue released to mark 250 years of American independence. Struck at the Philadelphia Mint, it carries the dual-date inscription "1776 ~ 2026" and stands as a first-year issue within the Mint's Semiquincentennial program.
The obverse features a portrait of the sitting President, Donald J. Trump, with the inscriptions "LIBERTY," "IN GOD WE TRUST," and the dual date. The portrait was designed by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, working from an official White House photograph by Daniel Torok.
The reverse carries the Presidential Seal, showing an eagle holding an olive branch and a bundle of arrows with a shield at its breast and a banner inscribed "E PLURIBUS UNUM" in its beak. The shield bears the added inscription "250" in recognition of the nation's Semiquincentennial, completed by the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "ONE DOLLAR."
Each coin has been certified MS66 by Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC), placing it one full grade above the gem uncirculated threshold. At this level, the coin shows well preserved original luster and noticeably fewer contact marks than the bulk of the issue.
This coin was produced with a circulating finish and was never placed into circulation. Because the U.S. Mint released the issue in 25-coin rolls and 100-coin bags rather than individual protective packaging, coins that certify at MS66 and above tend to make up a small fraction of submissions. Certified populations at the upper grades typically remain far thinner than overall production figures suggest, and within a given issue the higher grades have historically been where sustained demand concentrates.
As one of the largest authorized bulk purchasers from the U.S. Mint, our longstanding relationships and purchasing power help ensure customers receive premier access to the Mint's most closely watched releases.
First-year issues tied to major national anniversaries have historically drawn strong and consistent interest from investors, and the Semiquincentennial program is expected to remain among the most followed U.S. Mint releases of the decade. Certified MS66 by NGC, this coin combines a landmark 2026 design with a grade level that positions it toward the stronger end of the certified population.
