Description:

History of the Coin:
Gold American Eagle coins are minted in four different denominations. The 2021 1/2 oz. Gold American Eagle Proof 70 coin is the second largest has a face value of $25. The Gold American Eagle was first minted in 1986 after the Gold Bullion Coin Act of 1985 authorized the U.S. Mint to produce the coins. The weight and purity of each Gold American Eagle coin is guaranteed by the government of the United States.

All four denominations of the 2021 Gold American Eagle coins share the same iconic design. Lady Liberty as originally depicted by sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens with her flowing hair,  confidently striding forward with a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Gold coins with Saint-Gaudens design were first minted in 1907 after President Roosevelt ordered the redesign of American coinage. The design of the coin led to its immediate popularity and a favorite in American numismatics.

The obverse of the 2021 1/2 oz. Gold American Eagle PF 70 coin borrows heavily from the Saint-Gaudens version of Lady Liberty. She has the same torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left as she moves forward.

The reverse of the coin features another iconic image of American ideals. The bald eagle is a source of pride and symbol of freedom for many Americans. Miley Busiek has perfectly captured the majesty of the bald eagle with his design of a large male bald eagle with wings spread wide returning to his nest that is shared with a female bald eagle and their eaglet. IN GOD WE TRUST is above the female bald eagle with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA at the top of the coin.

Proof 70 is the highest grade available in numismatics. Each of the 2020 1/2 oz. Gold American Eagle coins has received this perfect PF 70 grade by NGC. Your investment will arrive safe and protected in a hard plastic slab that allows you to enjoy your investment without sacrificing the condition of the coin. Proof coins are struck at least twice to give them an almost mirror-like finish compared to that of a bullion coin.

The U.S. Gold Bureau sells more Gold American Eagle Proof 70 coins than anyone else. Proof 70 Gold American Eagle coins are available individually or in a 4-coin set. Sets include a 1/10 oz. 1/4 oz., and 1 oz. gold coins in addition to the 1/2 oz. Gold American Eagle.

Coin Highlights:

  • Each coin contains 1/2 oz. of gold
  • Struck at least twice or a mirror-like background
  • Proof 70 coins are independently graded by NGC to be in perfect condition
  • Obverse design is similar to the iconic 1907 Saint-Gaudens Gold Double-Eagle
  • Reverse is a beautiful design incorporating the symbol of American freedom, the bald eagle.
  • Protected and sealed in hard plastic slab in PF 70 condition
  • Backed by the United States government

Why invest in the coin?
The most popular investment grade coin is the Gold American Eagle PF 70 coin and the U.S. Gold Bureau is the leader in proof 70 Gold American Eagle coins. Perfect PF 70 coins are a smaller population of all Gold American Eagle coins minted in a particular year making them a great way to invest in precious metals.
