Minted in 1885 from the Carson City mint, this Morgan Silver Dollar was professionally graded in MS63 by PCGS. Like other silver coins minted before 1965, the Morgan Silver Dollar was minted using 90% silver. The Morgan Silver Dollar was minted in the United States from 1878 to 1904 and then again in 1921. The coin was the first silver dollar since the passage of the Coinage Act of 1873 discontinued the production of the Seated Liberty dollar. George T. Morgan designed the Morgan Silver Dollar which incorporates an eagle with wings extended on the reverse of the coin while the obverse features a depiction of Liberty in profile facing left. The Morgan Silver dollar is an extremely popular coin in the history of the United States. A huge reserve of the coin was found in the Philadelphia Mint in 1962. Up until then the coin was thought to be rare. The unexpected find actually improved the popularity of the coin. With many different dates and varieties, the Morgan Silver Dollar is one of the most collectible coins in history.
