The First Year of Issue Package contains the 1986 $50 Gold American Eagle PF70, 1986 $1 Silver American Eagle PF70, and the 2006 $50 Gold American Buffalo PF70.

1986 $50 Gold American Eagle PF70:
When the modern U.S. Mint began making gold coins in 1986, the first major release was the Gold American Eagle. Each year, the mint creates a standard “Business Strike” version of the coin, made for general bullion circulation, and a much smaller number of special issue “Proof” coins, specifically for investors and collectors. In 1986, the first year of issue, the Mint only made a 1 oz coin, with a $50 face value. The front of the coin features a design that is inspired by the original $20 Gold Double Eagle, designed by Augustus Saint Gaudens and minted from 1907 to 1933.

1986 $1 Silver American Eagle PF70:
The first Silver American Eagle was released by the United States Mint on November 24, 1986. Each coin is struck from one Troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. Over the years, the Silver Eagle has been produced at three mint locations: San Francisco Mint (1986-1992), Philadelphia (1993-2000), and West Point (2001-2018). The obverse of the coin is based on Adolph A. Weinman's 1916 "Walking Liberty" half dollar, which was in circulation from 1916 to 1947, and widely considered one of the most beautiful American coins ever minted. The reverse was designed by John Mercanti and portrays a heraldic eagle grasping an olive branch in its right talon and arrows in its left. Above the eagle are 13 five-pointed stars representing the Thirteen Colonies. The beauty, elegance and affordability of American Silver Eagle Coins have propelled them to be collected and admired around the world. American Silver Eagle Coins are the world's best-selling silver coins, with more than 130 million of them sold since 1986.

2006 $50 Gold American Buffalo PF70:
The Gold American Buffalo coin owes its existence to the Presidential $1 Coin Act of 2005. The U.S. Mint began producing the coins in 2006, marking the first time the Mint ever made a 24 karat gold coin (.9999 fine). The Gold American Buffalo PF70 coin is an ode to early 20th century U.S. coinage, featuring a replica of James Earle Fraser's 1913 Type I Buffalo nickel design. The piece's obverse depicts a reproduction of Fraser's right-facing profile portrait of an unnamed male Native American figure donning two feathers in his hair. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed in the top right "corner" of the coin, and the piece's year of mintage is struck in the bottom left. A "W" mintmark, indicating production at the West Point Mint, appears just above the man's right shoulder, and an "F" standing for the original designer's last name - Fraser - struck just below the mintage year.
