United States Mint

The United States Mint is the official coin manufacturer of the United States, established by Congress in 1792 and operating under the Department of the Treasury. It produces all U.S. circulating coins, as well as bullion and numismatic products, including commemorative coins, proof sets, and investment-grade gold, silver, and platinum pieces. With multiple facilities across the country, the U.S. Mint is renowned for its precision, security, and artistic excellence. Among its most famous products are the American Eagle and American Buffalo bullion coins, which are trusted worldwide by investors and collectors alike. Beyond coin production, the Mint also manages the nation’s gold and silver reserves, designs coins that reflect American history and culture, and supports public education through tours, exhibits, and outreach programs, serving as both a vital arm of the U.S. economy and a guardian of its numismatic heritage.
