Superman is the comic book hero from D.C. Comics who started saving the world in 1938. Superman was created by two high school students in Cleveland, Ohio and sold to Detective Comics. He was featured on radio programs, newspaper strips, television shows, and video games. Superman has been referred to as the Man of Tomorrow, and The Last Son of Krypton, in addition to the Man of Steel.

Like all good stories, Superman has lived and died several times. He first died in April 1966 after being exposed to kryptonite radiation. In the 1990s, Superman met his demise at the hands of Doomsday in January 1993. Most recently, Superman died from kryptonite in May 2016. He has yet to be resurrected.
