The obverse side of the coin features the classic right-facing effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, alongside engravings such as 'REG,' 'F.D.', '100 POUNDS' and 'ELIZABETH II.'

The reverse side of the coin features Britannia, the Guardian of the British Isles, with a trident in her right hand and a shield in her left. This reverse side also features engravings of '1 OZ 999.9 FINE GOLD' and 'BRITANNIA.'
