The Swiss Franc, known as the "Swiss Miss," "Vreneli" or "Helvetia Head," is a popular international currency and was minted from 1897 to 1935 at the Swiss National Mint in Bern, Switzerland. Each coin contains .1867 oz of gold, making them a size between a U.S. dime and nickel.
The front (obverse) of the coin shows the famous Vreneli "Swiss Miss" with the snowy Alps in the background and the word "Helvetia," which is the area where the coin was minted and a name for its people. The back (reverse) features a depiction of the Swiss Cross and an oak branch.
