Gold Hits 6-Week High on Monday

The price of gold notched up $14.30 on Monday to strike $1,678.30 per ounce, the highest price since December 9 of last year. Silver, meanwhile, jumped 1.9% to reach $32.27.

Business Spectator attributes the growth to "a lower U.S. dollar and fallout from the European Union's decision to impose an oil embargo on Iran."
