America the Beautiful 5-oz Silver Bullion Certified Coins

The U.S. Mint released the America the Beautiful 5-ounce Silver Bullion Coins in December of 2010.

Each coin is 5 ounces, making them “large format coins.” They are about as wide as the palm of your hand, or the rim of a coffee cup, which makes them extremely unique.

The designs are replicas of the highly successful America the Beautiful circulating quarters. They feature the standard Washington Quarter front (obverse) and a different national park of the back (reverse).

2010

There were only 33,000 of each of the first five coins minted in 2010 and are sold only as a set, when available, due to their rarity. As of July 2012, out of the 2010 set only 3,720 have been certified MS69, the highest grade available for this set.

2011

The Gettysburg and Glacier National Park coins debuted in April 2011, followed by Olympic National Park in June and Vicksburg in July. The Chickasaw coin was released in November 2012. Out of the 2011 set only 88 have been certified MS69, as of July 2012.

Our recommendation is to acquire these coins in MS69 grade, the highest certification possible, since these coins are the most rare. Contact a Metals Specialist to answer any of your questions at (800) 775-3504.
