Original Total Mintage Summary:

The 1995 Gold Eagle Proofs were the first group to have fewer than 10,000 coins minted on at least three of the individual denominations. The Class of 1993 came close, but the Class of 1995 is the first to be so distinguished. The $50, $25, and $10 Gold Eagle Proofs all posted totals less than 10,000; however, as a group, with a total of 46,669 total Proof coins minted, they still only rank 8th overall among all four-coin issues between 1988-2005. This notwithstanding, each of the Proof coins with less than 10,000 coins minted stack up really well in terms of rarity by total mintage. With only 7,548 Proof coins minted in 1995, the $50 Gold Eagle Proof is the 2nd rarest by total mintage among all $50 Gold Proofs from 1986-2005. The 1995 $25 Gold Eagle Proof ranks 3rd overall among $25 Gold Proofs and 4th overall in the entire series with a relatively tiny total of only 6,568 coins minted. Finally, the 1995 $10 Gold Eagle Proofs hold down the 2nd rarest position among all $10 Gold Proofs through the end of 2005.

NGC Certified Population Summary:

Additionally, through June 26, 2009, a total of only 456 four coin Gold Eagle Proofs sets from 1995 had been certified by NGC in Proof 70 condition.
